The
restaurant first opened in 1927 and has always been run by the Di Marco family.
One of the oldest restaurants in the city, it offers an expertly prepared and
sophisticated cuisine. Dishes with a local touch, enhanced by the creativity of
chef and owner Paolo, represent the essence of this old restaurant that is full
of young ideas. Special attention is dedicated to truffles, with a special menu
that is offered year round.
The restaurant welcomes its guests in the warm
atmosphere of its two dining rooms, which can hold up to about 90 people. The
focal point of the Tavern is a Roman floor dating to the later Imperial Age (4th
century AD). During the summer, guests can enjoy outdoor dining in the elegant
area set up in front of the monumental Romanesque church of San Gregorio Maggiore.
